Nivea Daily Essentials Day & Night Cream Review
I've been looking for a new moisturiser for a while now and on my last trip to Boots I noticed that there was an offer on on all the Nivea Daily Essentials products. The products were on offer at any two for £5. So obviously I thought I would pick up the day and night creams to try out. I have very dry skin and these moisturisers are supposed to be tailored especially for dry and sensitive skin, so I thought they would be perfect for me.
Firstly, the day cream promises to intensively moisturise and nourish for a soft skin feeling. It is a very light but buildable texture and it manages to keep my skin soft and smooth all day. I find that foundation sits well on top of this day cream as it is very light on the skin, much like a primer. The day cream also contains an SPF of 15, which is an added bonus as many more expensive day creams do not. For me, this product is definitely suitable for day time use as it is not too heavy on the skin but does leave skin feeling soft and hydrated all day. Usually, when this isn't on offer it costs £3.99 in places like Boots. Pretty average for a brand such as Nivea. One of the only downsides is that the tube only contains 50ml of product so it does need to be replaced relatively often. And considering brands like Simple give you 125ml of product for around the same price as this, it shows that you can get more for your money if you switch brands. This product works for me however and it's not too bad if you can find it on offer.
Next up, the night cream promises to deeply moisturise and regenerate the skin overnight. Out of the two products, the night cream is definitely my favourite. It is much richer and thicker than the day cream and manages to thoroughly hydrate my skin overnight. I find that the night cream does most of the work at moisturising my face and the day cream provides a nice boost in the mornings before I apply my makeup. A small amount goes a long way with the night cream and it takes much longer to settle into the skin compared to the day cream, which is to be expected. The products work well together for me and I like them. As with the day cream, you only get 50ml of product with the night cream, however it is in a small tub rather than a tube. The night cream usually costs £4.99, so it is a little more expensive than the day cream.

Nivea also make the day and night creams in an oil free version for oily skin and a light version for normal to combination skin. So there is something available for all skin types.
