Night Time Skincare Routine
Recently I have bought a whole host of new skincare products in order to try and sort out my dry skin. I wasn't overly happy with my old skincare routine and the products I was using didn't really work for me in the long term. So finally, I got round to researching and buying some new products and currently everything is going well and I am really enjoying them. All the products that I will be discussing are suitable for dry skin.
Step 1- Makeup Removal
I like to remove my makeup with the Garnier Micellar Water which is suitable for sensitive skin. I really like this product as it cleanses your face while simultaneously removing makeup thoroughly. A little really goes a long way and it really makes the skin feel smooth.
I then remove my eye makeup with the Nivea Extra Gentle eye makeup remover. I know that some people remove their mascara with the Garnier Micellar Water but I think that the Nivea eye makeup remover does a better job. It is especially good at removing even waterproof mascara. I picked this up in the extra-gentle variety as I have super sensitive eyes. It is a really good product and I love how it doesn't sting or irritate my eyes when I use it.
Step 2- Cleanse
After I have removed all my makeup with the Micellar water and a cotton pad I like to thoroughly cleanse my face with a cream cleanser. My all time favourite cleanser is the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. I have been using this product for a long time and I think that it is one that I will always stick to. It is a little on the pricey side if you're comparing it to the standard drugstore brands however, it does a really good job of thoroughly cleaning the face and getting rid of any dirt and it is definitely worth it. It works really well for my dry skin as it does not irritate or dry out my face, it actually leaves it feeling really subtle and soft.
Step 3- Tone
The toner that I am currently using is the Simple Kind to Skin Soothing Toner. This is really affordable and worth picking up if you're looking for something super easy and quick to use. Once again, Simple is a brand which I have always loved as their products have no perfumes and don't irritate dry/sensitive skin. An all round good product.
Step 4- Serum
This is the first serum that I have ever used and it is the Witch Overnight Clearing Serum. I read a few reviews and blog posts about the benefits of serums to target specific skin issues. I decided to pick up this one as I can be prone to random breakouts with the rest of my skin being completely clear. So far, I am really loving this product as I think that it is helping to keep the spots at bay and it does a really nice job of smoothing the skin out making it feel soft and even.
Step 5- Moisturise
Next, I like to moisturise my face at night with the Nivea Night Cream which I have done a full review of earlier in the blog. Once again I like it because it is suitable for dry skin so it has a beautiful thick and creamy texture which soaks into the skin leaving it feeling wonderfully soft. I would completely recommend this to those of you with dry skin.
Step 6- Hands/Lips
Finally, before I go to bed at night I always like to use a moisturising hand cream and a lip balm. The hand cream I am using at the moment is the Ted Baker Pink Hand Cream. It has a really beautiful scent and leaves dry hands feeling so much better with continued usage.
I then always like to apply my Nivea Lip Butter to soak into my lips overnight. I really like the texture of the Nivea lip butters as they feel like a moisture mask for your lips. I always like to wear them at night rather than in the day as they are very thick and can look strange on the lips. However if you apply at night before bed you will wake up with lovely soft lips perfectly primed and ready for a daily lipstick.
Thank You all for reading, I hope that this post has helped some of you who also have dry or sensitive skin. If you can think of any product recommendations please let me know!
